We made a welcome return to Sandburn Hall, just outside of York, on Saturday. We were performing for Ross and Emma’s wedding.
Sandburn is a great venue that offers really modern facilities in a beautiful timber-framed venue that feels much older than it is. It’s one of our favourite local venues.
Despite the clouds blowing over all morning, it turned out to be a lovely day and by the time we got there the crowd were making the most of the outdoor space on offer. Our job was to get them back inside and on the dance floor! We went straight on after the first dance and kept the dance floor busy with a mixture of tunes from the 60’s to today.
Our happy couple had asked us to learn ‘Umbrella’ by Rihanna for them, which made its way in to our second set. We had great fun with that one!
This was also the first outing of the year for our DJ service. Our drummer Tom moved seamlessly from behind the kit to the decks (Ok. Laptop), and put in double duty keeping everyone entertained after we’s finished playing. There was some remarkably energetic dancing going on all night!
As always, it was the end of the night before we knew it, and we had to say goodbye to Sandburn. But we’re back again in July!
