The wedding band was and about in Yorkshire last weekend at The Motorist venue situated in Sherburn-In-Elmet between Leeds and York. We were performing for Louise and Pete’s wedding with a very enthusiastic crowd of their friends and family.
We had performed for our couple previously, helping Louise celebrate her birthday a few years ago, so we knew we were in for a good night. Plus we had a few songs up our sleeves that we already knew their friends and family loved!
The Motorist is a new venue for us, and it’s a new venue in its own right having opened in the last few years. It’s a great place for a celebration with bags of space, including some great outside areas, and a really modern look and feel. It also has great access into the building so we were able to load in and set up quickly and without disrupting anybody else.
We had worked closely with our couple in the run up to their wedding, so we had a very clear plan for the evening along with a some specific songs choices. We’re always happy to have these types of discussions with clients if they want to – it ensures we’re offering them a unique service, and we can share our experience to ensure some of the little details aren’t missed. However, we’re equally at home turning up and just doing our thing!
Rather than a slow smoochy number, our couple had picked Shut Up & Dance by Walk The Moon as their first dance. This set the tone for the rest of the night – everyone was expected (and very willing) to hit the dancefloor and have a great time! We love these kind of parties, we get so much energy from the crowd that we’re able to channel into our performance. It always makes for a great night.
