Earlier this month we were privileged to be asked to play for Laura and Greg’s wedding at the Yorkshire Wedding Barn near Richmond.
It’s been a while since we were last at this particular venue, and there have been some changes since we last visited. Don’t worry the hot tub in a tree is still there… But what was a stone shed a few years ago has been transformed into an amazing space with views across the Yorkshire countryside.
Luckily, the wedding breakfast was taking place in a separate part of the venue, so we were able to set up quickly without disturbing any of the guests. At one point the wedding photographer popped over to sat hello and mentioned what an amazing atmosphere there was amongst the guests – so, no pressure on us!!
Once the wedding party began to fill the room we felt what the photographer was talking about. Laura and Greg had chosen ‘When a Man Loves a Woman‘ as their first dance, and from the moment we started playing we knew it was going to be one of those nights.
We split our performance over three sets, so we were playing right up until the last part of the night, and it looked like the party was still going strong as we packed up and left. For once the A1 heading South was behaving itself, so we just made it home before 2am!
