It’s been a whirlwind of music, laughter and full dancefloors lately for our Yorkshire party band — and we thought it was time to give you a peek behind the scenes!
Sarah’s Midsummer Birthday Bash in Malton
One of the standout events for us recently was Sarah’s brilliant birthday party, which took place in a gorgeous marquee at her home in Malton. It was the perfect midsummer evening — the weather was absolutely stunning, which made it all the more fun to play outdoors. We’ve always loved the vibe of an outdoor gig, and this one did not disappoint. The marquee was full of Sarah’s family and friends, and they were all up for a good time. In fact, we’re pretty sure the neighbours were enjoying the tunes too, we know they were listening!
It seems like we must have done something right, because we’ve since been booked for another party — this time for one of Sarah’s friends! There’s no better feeling than getting rebooked after a great gig. It’s proof that our music connects with the crowd, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the party to even more folks across Yorkshire.
Jen’s Big Birthday at Kilnwick Percy Golf Club
Next up, we were honoured to play for Jen’s big birthday at Kilnwick Percy Golf Club, just outside Pocklington (or as the locals call it, “The KP”). This was one of those gigs where the range of ages in the crowd kept us on our toes. From very young children to grandparents, we had to carefully balance our setlist and our volume to keep everyone happy. That’s where years of experience really come into play. We’ve always prided ourselves on being able to read the room and adjust our music to suit the audience. Not every band can do that, but we’ve got the knack for it. We know when to turn it up for the dancefloor and when to dial it down for a more chilled vibe.
It wasn’t the first time we’d played for Jen, though! We were also there for her wedding, which was a complete surprise for her from her husband. (How good is that?! We love a bit of surprise action!) Jen’s birthday party was just as special, and the energy in the room was fantastic. We even had to haul all our gear up the external fire escape at The KP — talk about a workout! There’s always some stairs to deal with, but it’s always worth it to bring the music to life.
